Chandelier Tree
After living just down the street from this amazing tree for over 6 years and enjoying it almost daily on walks through the neighborhood, I finally decided to get the full story behind it.
So, this winter while shooting the "Pyrakantha" music video { vimeo.com/colinkennedy/pyrakantha } I sat down with its creator, Adam Tenenbaum, to get the backstory on the Chandelier Tree.

ABSOLUT BLANK Live - Behind the Scenes
In collaboration with the director Saam Farahmand, The Mill Digital created the ABSOLUT BLANK LIVE - a digital campaign that enabled the audience to paint the ABSOLUT bottle with their dance moves.
The way it worked was simple. Someone would step inside the custom built ABSOLUT pod, dance to their favourite tune and their moves were transformed into video art.
An infrared camera tracked their movements. A bespoke C++ software removed the background in real-time and generated unique art works by reading depth, velocity and the colours they were wearing.
At the end of their dance they received an email with a link to the ABSOLUT Blank Live Facebook page, where they could see, share and Like their video. They could also find out where the Pod was going to be next and check everyone else's video portraits.
The best videos captured across all the ABSOLUT BLANK Live events were mixed into a live audio visual set by DJ Jamie XX, at a finale party in London's Shoreditch.

Carte Noire - Interactive Window Installation
Carte Noire immersed shoppers at Westfield Stratford City with an intense and immersive experience for the launch of Carte Noire Instinct. As shoppers passed the window installation the 5m tall interactive screen activated and augmented the reality around them. As they moved closer the experience intensified and reality became more distorted.

Using Kinect, a live camera feed, motion tracking technology, cinematic visual and sound effects, and enormous LCD screens we turned an ordinary shop window in London into the most intense window in town.
Work Club came up with the concept behind the piece and the project as executed with the design consultancy AllofUs and Posterscope.

Twistmas Tree
I built these Christmas Tree ornaments with friends at AlphaOneLabs.com. A live twitter feed causes the reactive ornaments to blink. Each ornament is associated to a specific keyword (relating to the holidays and hacking). If you tweet the word "Xmas", the "Xmas" ornament will light up. Arduinos and Processing was used. M BOX - M WALL
M BOX INTERACTIVE MEDIA WALL 2012

The m wall system is a permanently installed interactive media wall, consisting of 20 Full HD displays and a dedicated client-server system (11 computers). On the one side, a powerful in-house development tool for interactive installations, it can also be used to simulate and playback large format video content.
The system offers endless possibilities in the fields of generative and reactive content creation. External live feeds such as twitter, video streams and picture content from the web can be embedded into the content. The m wall system can be controlled through various interfaces, such as, e.g. iPads, Kinect Motion Control, or classic show control systems.
A broad array of reactive, interactive, generative and linear modules have been developed for the m wall. These can be used for various applications, such as, e.g. 360 degrees projections or projection mappings, but also picture adjustments for large format video playback. The m wall system is based on the VVVV software extended by the performance Framework IRIS.

Hirzberger Events - Digital Wallpaper
Once in a while it is nice to not work on a commercial project and have the freedom of doing whatever you want. Fortunately the people at Büro Hirzberger hirzbergerevents.com were totally open to whatever we presented them to decorate parts of their office space in Vienna.
My fellow co-workers at Strukt Design Studio strukt.com came up with this digital wallpaper, using 2 projectors to map an entire wall and using VVVV to do the deskewing and to generate the content.
